Founder Joe Wee has been building technology platforms since leaving Warwick University in 1996. From deploying the UK's first cable modem systems with ntl in 1997 to launching pioneering SaaS services in 1999 (long before "Cloud" entered common usage), Joe has consistently stayed ahead of the technology curve. He founded Chillingo in 2002 which became the world's leading mobile indie game publisher for games like Angry Birds, Cut the Rope and Contre Jour. Chillingo was acquired by Electronic Arts in 2010.

Joe's deep understanding of online education comes from investing and advising startups like Wakelet ( education collaboration tools ), to video streaming branded lessons provider WhatClass. Through this advisory work, he gained invaluable insights into what works—and critically, what doesn't—in educational technology platforms. He witnessed firsthand the challenges educators face: overcomplicated interfaces, inflexible course structures, and platforms that prioritize features over user experience. His position on the Createch Advisor Board at Warwick University has further enriched this perspective, providing direct insight into academic institutions' evolving needs, the intersection of creativity and technology in education, and the real-world challenges that universities and educators face when adopting new educational technologies.
